Strategic roadmap and action plan for the future development as a peak destination
Zermatt offers its visitors what is one of the most stunning landscapes in the alpine region – one of the reasons why the Zermatt Tourist Board advertises with the slogan “Surrounded by 29 peaks 4,000 metres in height”. For the many non-mountaineers in society, the Gornergrat ridge offers the ideal location in which to experience the impressive mountain landscape of Zermatt up close, as it is easy to reach thanks to the Gornergratbahn cable car.
However, additional improvements in terms of offering and appeal are required to preserve the Gornergrat’s position in the highly competitive tourism market in the long term and also strengthen Zermatt as a destination. The “150 years since the first ascent of the Matterhorn” anniversary offers the perfect starting point for launching implementation measures for the new strategic orientation.
Scope of services
Evaluation and development of innovative ideas for projection on the Gornergrat in the anniversary year and as a starting shot for the future development, positioning, activation and marketing as a peak destination in Zermatt. Creation of a comprehensive action plan for the owners.
