On 20 August 2024, the municipalities of Flims, Laax and Falera invited the public to a public information event about the Prau la Selva sports and leisure park project. Quant is supporting the project on behalf of the development agency, which consists of the municipalities of Flims, Laax and Falera, as well as TCS, FLFM AG and WAG.
A modern, regional sports and leisure park is to be created
The Prau la Selva sports centre, a popular destination in the region since the 1980s, is to be comprehensively modernised and expanded. The newly designed Prau la Selva will concentrate and modernise the existing range of ice activities and expand it to include a variety of leisure and sports activities. These are aimed at active people from the region as well as guests visiting the destination. With a consistent focus on the needs of the various target groups, a comprehensive experience will be created that is sure to delight visitors. The aim is to create a modern sports and leisure park with supra-regional relevance.
Youth development and networking
Special attention is paid to youth development. Age-appropriate programmes and facilities are being created to offer children and young people a wide range of opportunities for sporting activities and personal development. Visitors can also enjoy an extensive range of sports and leisure activities. The renovated ice rink offers ideal training conditions, and 26 sports accommodations are available for training groups and clubs. In addition to a curling hall that can be used all year round, the planned centre also offers three outdoor tennis courts and a multi-purpose hall for events and indoor tennis courts. An extensive range of multi-sports facilities, consisting of a mountain bike jump park and skills centre, skate park, fitness centre, ski carpet and padel tennis, rounds off the sporting facilities on offer. The existing mini golf course and high ropes course will remain. A self-service restaurant with an adjacent playground will also cater to guests’ physical well-being.
Lower operating costs and supraregional significance
The planned merger of the Prau la Selva sports centre with the Waldhaus Arena will reduce operating costs. The renovation measures will lead to more efficient use. The ‘Prau la Selva Sports and Leisure Park’ project is growing into a modern sports and leisure park with supraregional significance.

Milestone and coordination
The municipalities of Flims, Laax and Falera are aware of the importance of the sports centre for the local population and visitors. The project team is convinced that the new concept represents a solution that meets the needs of all stakeholders and thus marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Prau La Selva sports and leisure centre.
On 22 September 2024, the citizens of Flims voted on the matter.
With around 85% voting in favour, the Flims electorate approved the renovation and upgrading of the existing Prau La Selva sports centre. The municipalities of Laax and Falera will vote on the matter shortly.
