Mobility concept for Flims Laax Falera
On behalf of the Bus Commission and Future Workshop of the municipality of Flims, Quant is working with the project team to develop a forward-looking concept for the sustainable organisation of traffic and visitor flows in the Flims Laax Falera region. Analysis, strategy and concrete measures for efficient, user-friendly mobility were developed in three phases.
Vision
«By 2040, mobility will be an integral part of the Flims Laax Falera experience – sustainable, connected and enhancing quality for all user groups.»
Concept and objectives
The mobility system is based on three levels: basic mobility, seasonal mobility and peak day mobility with flexible capacities. A strong public transport system forms the backbone, supplemented by local micro-services. The aim is decarbonisation through less motorised individual transport, more public transport and non-motorised transport for sustainable, compatible mobility.
Measures and implementation
Several minor measures have been defined to improve mobility communication. Implementation is guided by four key priorities:
- Creating a database for planning and evaluation
- Testing on-demand services to supplement the route network
- Rethinking parking and optimising traffic management
- Securing the future by examining a cable car connection to the RhB
